This 15–20-minute survey is a key part of 21C’s mission to ensure every health department has the tools, resources, and training needed to effectively deliver the Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS). Your responses will help shape statewide planning and support - don’t miss this chance to share your department’s workforce needs and priorities. Please complete the survey by August 10 and help your team reach 100% participation!

There is a NEW resource for finding local public health data in Montana! Community Health Insights is an interactive dashboard that brings together county level health data from a range of data sources, including Montana infectious disease data, birth certificates, death certificates, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the Montana Central Tumor Registry, hospital discharge, and Census.

Public Health Nurses Mentorship Program

Confluence Public Health Alliance and MPHA are excited to announce a mentorship program for public health nurses new to their position. The PHN Mentorship Program will provide resources and training to increase foundational skills and competences while connecting new public health nurses with experienced public health nurses. This program will run July - December 2025.

UC Berkeley’s Rural Health Innovation Program - Full Ride Scholarship Opportunity

UC Berkeley is now accepting applications for its next cohort of Rural Health Innovation Scholars. This program provides full-tuition scholarships for public health professionals living and working in rural communities to earn their Master of Public Health degree online. Scholars also receive a paid membership in the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Applications are due August 3, 2025.

Rural Health Small Grants

In 2025, MTHF created a grant opportunity for organizations located in and serving rural Montana. Through a simplified application, rural Montana organizations can apply for grants of up to $10,000 to help address a health issue in their community.

This grant initiative is intended to be a low-barrier opportunity for organizations in rural Montana that may have fewer staff and resources, making it difficult to compete for larger grants. Therefore, we may prefer projects from organizations that are not under the network of a larger entity. This opportunity closes September 1, 2025. Learn more via the link below.
