The first in-person meeting of the Montana Harm Reduction Coalition will take place September 10-11, 2025, at the Butte Copper King Convention Center.

Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and principles aimed at reducing the negative consequences of drug use. It’s rooted in dignity, justice, and meeting people where they are. Whether you're working in public health, direct service, healthcare, or simply want to support compassionate, evidence-based responses to substance use in your community, you're welcome here.

This gathering is for anyone interested in supporting access to harm reduction services and exploring how harm reduction values can be integrated into your work, your organization, or your day-to-day life. A preview of the agenda is available here.

The next round of in-person PHEP collaborative discussions will take place this November, and we’d love to have you join us! These meetings are your opportunity to connect with your peers, network, and work through the PHEP deliverables - MTPHI will facilitate but YOU set the agenda.

Wildfire season in Montana worsens air quality, risking health by spreading fine particulate matter (PM2.5) that aggravates asthma, COPD, and other respiratory conditions. Children, the elderly, and those with health issues are especially vulnerable. To reduce the impact of poor air quality on health, residents should monitor air quality alerts, limit outdoor exposure during high smoke, and use indoor air filtration.

The Montana Public Health Training Center (MTPHTC) recently hosted a “Back-to-School in a Time of Measles Resurgence” panel discussion and Q&A session. If you missed the webinar, the recording is now available here.
